It’s recently come to our attention that there’s something called the FBI Virus that’s going around Tumblr right now. 

Essentially suspicious blogs with random urls and icons are following blogs, and if you click on them you’re redirected to this FBI (?) website and then given a virus. 

To make matters worse, there have actually been a few recorded incidents like this where the virus creates believable blogs, messages people, and when they click the URL they’re redirected to the same site with the same virus. 

AND to make matters worse, there are some instances where not even your reblog notifications can be trusted. 

So our advice is as follows:

1. If a strange blog follows you, DO NOT CLICK THEIR URL. It’s possible it could be a personal blog that just has a similar URL, but do not take the chance. HIT THE IGNORE BUTTON. 
2. If you receive a strange notification from a blog like that DO NOT CLICK IT. 
3. If you receive a message from a blog that has never messaged you before - even if it seems genuine - DO NOT CLICK THEIR URL. DELETE THE MESSAGE. 
4. DON’T FOLLOW STRANGE BLOGS, ESPECIALLY AS A FOLLOW BACK. 
5. If you feel it necessary, change your password.
