Audrey was surprised when Ping was suddenly in her face and standing on the ground with her. She laughed, stepping back, liking the smile on his face. She was glad she hadn’t completely hurt the only person she knew’s feelings. “Yeah, ended up being a bit better than him, so I worked for Henry Ford and then went on to design all the vehicles for this mission to find this lost civilization,” She said proudly, but then realized that was kind of a pointless statement
Ping’s next question only furthered that thought. She shook her head, “Its hard to explain, but basically, I make machines.” Audrey offered but felt frustrated. She had no idea how to really explain it. Smirking, she kept her hands in her pockets, standing in front of him. “But I don’t know if that makes any sense here?” She kept from adding “in this time”. She really needed to figure out how traveling by this stupid crystal worked.
Despite being completely and hopelessly lost, Audrey couldn’t help but smile back at Ping. “So what now?” She asked curiously.
“Um.” Ping blinked, fiddling with his fingers as he tried to make sense of Audrey. "Now, we need to figure out which way you have to go.“ He gave her a small smile, as if Ping wasn’t secretly a little frustrated that the newest person lost near Wu Zhong wasn’t even really sure where they were supposed to be. How did anybody do that? Trying to look like he knew what he was doing (or at least like he was Captain Li), Ping put his hands on his hips and looked around thoughtfully.
He was unaware of the feminine way in which this accentuated his form, since after all it was not considered well-bred for a young woman to put her hands on her hips and, ironically, the teenager had never done so much until it came to posing as a man. "I don’t know what you’re talking about, though,” he confessed sheepishly, his mind spinning with machines and Henry Ford. "How can you lose a civilization?“ On a sudden inspiration he grinned at Audrey. "Is that how you got here? By ‘losing’ your country?” Ping teased. He attempted a manly laugh. "Heh! Get it?“
